A BRIEF
HISTORY OF THE SOUTHERN OREGON FALL HOME SHOW
The first annual
Southern Oregon Fall Home Show was held at the Medford Armory in
September, 1998.
The show was primarily
created to accommodate the overflow of exhibitors who could not get
into our February Home Show. There were 66 booths in our first show. We
wanted the two shows to be totally destinctive. Our Fall Home Show is a
more focused show on decorating and remodeling. We have a full range of
exhibitors to help the consumer with their building projects. Our
association built an alternative type home inside the show the first
two years. A form block house was our first venture and a steel framed
house was erected for the 1999 show. We are the only home builders
association in the United States that has built a house inside a local
home show.
In 2003 we moved the
show to a larger venue, the Jackson County Expo, to accommodate the
overflow of exhibitors.
The annual Southern
Oregon Fall Home Show is held in September. Our exhibitors come from
all over the State of Oregon, as well as from California and
Washington. Most of our out-of-town exhibitors and visitors stay in
local motels and eat meals in local restaurants. Thus, our show
contributes to the Rogue Valley economy.
